- 08:30–09:00 AM: At the scheduled time, we’ll depart north of Huaraz, traveling through the Callejón de Huaylas Valley. Our first stop is the town of Carhuaz, where we’ll enjoy traditional artisanal ice cream and take photos in the main square. We’ll then visit the historic city of Yungay (Campo Santo), buried by the 1970 earthquake and landslide — now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, we ascend to Chinancocha Lagoon in the Llanganuco Valley, where you’ll have the option to enjoy a boat ride (not included in the price). On the return journey, the group will stop for lunch at a country-style restaurant (not included). Before arriving back in Huaraz, we’ll visit the artisan village of Taricá, where you’ll witness firsthand how local ceramics and crafts are made. The tour concludes around 7:00 PM.
Recommendations: Wear regular clothing with a warm jacket, hiking shoes, lip balm, hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
