DAY 01: ROCOTUYOC & FROZEN LAGOON – FULL DAY (Approx. 8 hours)

  • 06:00 AM: Reception and transfer to your selected accommodation.
  • 07:30 AM: Breakfast.
  • 08:30 – 09:00 AM: After hotel pick-up, we’ll head north of Huaraz to the town of Marcará, where we’ll take an eastern turn into the lands of the Vicos community, eventually entering the Huascarán National Park. We’ll arrive at Paqcharuri, a charming site known for its icy waterfalls, and visit the Llamaruri cave paintings. Then we continue to Rocotuyoc Lagoon, where we’ll enjoy splendid views of the surrounding mountains. From there, we walk along a gentle trail to reach the Frozen Lagoon, nestled beside a glacier and known for its floating ice fragments. After spending a meaningful amount of time in this sacred landscape, we return to Rocotuyoc and take our vehicle back to Huaraz.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Regular clothing with a warm jacket, hiking shoes, lip balm, hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

DAY 02: PASTORURI GLACIER – FULL DAY (Approx. 8 hours)

  • 07:30 AM: Breakfast.
  • 08:30 – 09:00 AM: Today we head south of Huaraz, beginning our journey in the Carpa sector. Our first stop is Patococha Lagoon, known for its wild ducks. We then visit the carbonated springs, a natural underground filtration. Continuing on, we arrive at PumapaShimi, the endless seven-colored lake, followed by the Puyas Raymondi forest, home to the most iconic plant of the Andes. Finally, we reach the majestic Pastoruri Glacier, where you’ll have time to take photos and explore its frozen lagoon and ice walls. On the return to Huaraz, the group will stop for lunch at a restaurant in the town of Catac (not included). The tour concludes between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Warm clothing, hiking shoes, lip balm, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

DAY 03: HIKE TO LAGUNA 69 – FULL DAY (Approx. 12 hours)

  • 05:00 – 05:30 AM: We begin our journey by vehicle through the northern Callejón de Huaylas Valley. In Yungay, we take an eastern turn and continue toward the Huascarán National Park checkpoint. After registration, we ascend in a zigzag through the Llanganuco ravine.
  • Along the way, we pass near two lagoons — Chinancocha and Orconcocha — and pause briefly for photos. We then continue to Cebollapampa, the starting point of the hike to Laguna 69. Reaching Laguna 69 (4,600 m / 15,092 ft) takes approximately 3 hours. This lagoon is known for its intense blue color and sits just below the majestic Chacraraju Mountain (6,112 m / 20,052 ft). After spending a meaningful amount of time at the lagoon, we return along the same trail — about 2 hours — to Cebollapampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Snacks, water, regular clothing with a warm jacket, hiking shoes, lip balm, hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the bus terminal to begin your journey back to your city of origin.
